Diet Evaluation

If you are interested in weight control one half of the answer is a good diet evaluation of the foods you normally eat. To lose weight you need to eliminate 250 calories of food intake each day and add 250 calories of exercise activity each day. That will produce a calorie deficit of 3500 calories a week, which is the equivalent of one pound of fat.

In order to eliminate 250 calories of food intake you need to know how many calories you normally eat. That is one purpose of the Diet Evaluation. Another purpose of the evaluation is to determine any nutritional deficiencies or excesses you may have.

This Diet Evaluation is based on the current U. S. Government Dietary Guidelines as found in the www.mypyramid.gov web site. Three reports are available including: A Nutrient Analysis of your diet, Dietary Guideline Recommendations, and A Comparison of Your Intake with the Guidelines.

In order to receive these reports you must first send us a request for a Diet Evaluation by email or phone. We will then send you copies of the Diet Evaluation directions and Diet Diary forms. Complete the forms and return them by email. We then create a personal file on the web site that you can continue to use anytime you want to update your diet evaluation. Your personal Diet Evaluation Reports will be sent by email within two days. There is a nominal fee for this service.

The personal file that we create is confidential and can only be accessed using your password and email address. Continued use of this web site will provide excellent motivation to stick with your program. You can learn a lot just by exploring different links. There are some pages of this web site that are still under construction. As additional information and new links become available you will be notified through our newsletter.

Please note: This diet Evaluation is designed for the general public. If you have any metabolic disorder or chronic health condition, like diabetes, you should be getting more specific nutritional advice from a Registered Dietitian. Additional information and help, including seminars, workshops and personal training services are available.
